This diagram served multiple audiences - people who were familiar with the technical information presented in it, and people who didn’t have that knowledge just yet. It would also be presented in two ways - either as part of a visual presentation where it would be viewed for a few minutes, or in a brochure for the reader to take a deep dive into. So, when designing it, I made sure to make it clear and easy to follow in order to serve these diverse aims.

The illustrations in the diagram are comprised of clean lines, simple shapes and bold colours - all of which help to simplify the complex information being presented. The annotations, while numerous, help to signpost and guide the eye without overwhelming the audience with too many details.
